Gia's Story...
Gia appears to be a young, adult female German Shepherd Dog. She has lovely sable coloring. We estimate her age to be about 3 years old. Gia is an energetic, playful girl. She enjoys romping with the fun-loving dogs in her foster home. She's been terrific with other dogs so far, including the tiny dog in the foster home. Gia appears to have possibly already had a foundation in some obedience training, and she's very smart. She absorbs new things very quickly, and she appears to be eager to please. She's got excellent leash manners. She knows some basic commands like 'sit,' 'down, and 'stay,' and she has an ever-expanding vocabulary in her foster home. She loves to go on outings. She would be a fun dog for someone looking to try out AKC Rally or virtually any advanced obedience training. She's already house trained and has great house manners. Like most Shepherds, she's a 'velcro dog' who loves to follow her people around the house. She loves to be talked to, and she even tries to reply sometimes in the conversation! Gia's a very affectionate, loving girl who is ready to find someone to give her heart to. If you are interested in adopting Desi, please fill out an adoption application at http://www.redstickgermanshepherds.org. All adoptions are approved solely at the discretion of the RSGSR board of directors.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gia, a Baton Rouge German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
