Buster-Prison Dog's Story...
This sweet boy is a 2 year old AKC registered Bracing Beagle, meaning he is very good at tracking. He was adopted during the winter and was truly loved by his family but had some potty accidents in the home...which is now being addressed during his training. Buster is a lover of people and attention when his nose isn't "to the ground". Friendly Buster will be your friend forever and give you lots of hugs and kisses. His adoptive family called him an incredible dog that loved the kids in the family and was very affectionate.

On June 05, 2015, Buster was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. He will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.

If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications will be accepted at a later date. More information will be provided at that time. If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321. Or email at adoptions@friendshipapl.org..

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buster-Prison Dog, a Elyria Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
