My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in adopting Flex please fill out our adoption application by clicking this LINK Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the 'Adopt A Dog' page Got Handsome? Everyone who lays eyes on Flex is struck by his stoic good looks. He can rarely go out in public with people running over to admire and visit with him. The first year of Flex's life was not easy but this young boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback stayed strong. His owner's kept him sequestered in the yard then moved and left him behind. He is now safely on The Rescue Train which has left the station in search of a happier tale. When you look into his soulful eyes you can see that he is desperate for a person of his own and trying to make sense of his circumstances. Because Flex was under socialized when he came on The Rescue Train we decided to enroll him in our 'Trained For Life' dog training program (to read more about this program please visit our website www.therescuetrain.org). In this program Flex worked with professional dog trainers and has learned extensive obedience training which would have been a big investment for the average pet owner. We are looking for an owner who's interested in learning what he's learned and appreciates what an opportunity it is to adopt a dog that already been trained. Flex has done well in the program and learned to play with toys and give a big boxer smile. When Flex feels confident with the people he's with are safe he's a big lover. He can be wary of strangers and this is something we’ve been focusing in his training. Because of his past we are looking for an adopter who has the patience to transition him into the good life by learning from our professional dog trainer how to introduce him to new people and places. He's going to do best in a house rather than a busy apartment complex or condo. Free lessons with his dog trainer will be included in his adoption. Flex would feel most safe in an adult home were the adopter has had experience with large breeds. He is not the right dog for a first time dog owner. Flex gets a long with some dogs. A female dog his size would probably be the best match for him and people with very small dogs should not apply. He has not been cat tested yet. Flex needs ample exercise and play in a secure yard. He's under two years of age and approximately 75 pounds. He is neutered, micro-chipped, crate trained and current on vaccines. Can you open your heart and home to this beautiful boy? In return you'll get a life time of devotion and unconditional love! INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? PLEASE FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.therescuetrain.org APPLICANT MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD APPLICANT MUST LIVE IN THE GREATER LA AREAQ
