Iris & Rose's Story...
Iris and Rose are 2 of the sweetest seniors you'll ever meet. They were found as strays and brought to Friendship by a Good Samaritan. Thank goodness there are nice people in the world. Iris and Rose are 7-8 year old Maltese mix sisters. Their first photo together was taken before they were bathed. The 2nd and 3rd photos show them getting cleaned up with APL Volunteer Denise. They received all their shots, got their bath and spayed without a whimper or a nip. They are truly sweethearts that would love to stay together through their golden years. Please find room in your heart and home for Iris and Rose. They would love a nice quiet and loving home.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Iris & Rose, a Elyria Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
