Winifred's Story...
Winifred is a 2 yr old buff tiger DSH. She has just come back to the shelter after spending several weeks in a foster home raising her four babies. She is super sweet and is still adjusting to being back here so will take some time to show her real purrsonality to visitors. When Winfred's kittens were 6 weeks old they became ill with the calicivirus. Winifred never got sick but due to them only being exposed to her we believe she maybe shedding the virus, though she shows no symptoms. Winifred and her last kitten, Turtle are in a separate house on shelter property. The need to either be the only cat or go together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winifred, a Springfield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Springfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Springfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Springfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Springfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Springfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
