Moose's Story...
1. What is your name?
My name is Moose aka Moosey aka Mooseypants aka MooMoos

2. How old are you?
I am about 5 years old.

3. How much do you weigh?
I weigh around 85lbs but I am a gentle giant.

4. What do you look like?
My foster mom says I am the most handsome Moose around. I have fancy white socks on my front feet and a big white patch on my chest. I don’t have floppy ears like my foster sister, but it lets me better hear all my foster mom’s cooing over me.

5. What do you like to eat?
PEANUT BUTTER!!!!! It is my most favorite treat. Peanut butter stuffed kong? YES PLEASE!

6. What kind of personality do you have?
I am a super laid-back mellow dude. I also love to cuddle and be close to my favorite human. Foster mom suffers from cuteness overdose when I get on the couch next to her and rest my head on her shoulder. I have her wrapped around my paw.

7. Describe your perfect day:
My perfect day would be a nice stroll with my human in the morning. I am great on a leash too, especially if I am being walked solo (I kind of love being the center of attention). Then I like to take a few naps, eat some treats, snuggle with my human, and maybe eat some peanut butter. I am pretty low energy and love to relax.

8. What is your favorite toy?
I love dragging my dog bed around the house and bundling it up into a ball to lay on top of.

9.Do you know any tricks?
I know sit and high-five with both paws! Sometimes I listen when my mom says stay, but still working on that one. I also know what it means when she says “go to bed”.

10. What scares you?
I’m a pretty brave guy, but I’ve been abandoned in the past, so I really want to find a furever family fur real!

11. Have you been around children? Do you like them?
Despite my size, I am great around kids because I am so gentle and mellow.

12. Do you like cats?
If by “like”, you mean do I like chasing them? Then YES! Chasing cats (and squirrels) is super fun, so best not to live with them.

13. How do you feel about other dogs?
I do well with other dogs of similar energy level (and I love the ladies!) but would be perfectly happy as a solo dog too.

14. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere my human is! Especially on the couch with my head resting on her. I love that.

15. How is your health?
I am in great health. I was neutered and had a full check-up (shots, vaccinations, etc) when NBBR found my sidekick Mini and I down in Gustine about six months ago.

16. Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with my human and her two rescued pit mixes, Conan (14 years old) and Betty (9 years old). Betty and I have become good pals. Conan is a grumpy old man and pretty much avoids me.

17. Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
I am crate trained but my foster mom also has a large outdoor kennel, so if the weather is nice, I’ll hang out outside.

18. Where do you sleep?
I sleep on my dog bed on the floor in my foster mom’s bedroom.

19. Do you like walking on a leash?
LOVE walks! You’d think a big guy like me would be hard to walk, but I am actually very gentle and mellow on the leash…. unless I spot a cat or squirrel! Then I might get excited for a second.

20. Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard?
I have to admit, I do bark sometimes for a few minutes when my mom leaves for work in the morning. It makes her sad but I just love being around my human so much!

21. Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside)
Of course!

22. What do you love about your foster family?
I love my foster sister Betty and love that my mom lets me on the couch to cuddle with her. I listen well though, so if she tells me “no” to the couch, I am perfectly happy on one of my numerous dog beds.

23. What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue?
My sidekick Mini and I were found roaming the streets in Gustine. A nice lady picked us up and contact NBBR to help us find a new home.

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a "first come, first serve" basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees for adult dogs is $200, and $250 for under the age of one year. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary). If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you can visit our website at and fill out an adoption application. Simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "adopt" to find the form. Once the form downloads, fill in the blanks, and return the completed form to us by email at Please allow at least 24 to 48 hours for a reply. Thanks in advance.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moose, a Lincoln American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Lincoln, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Lincoln.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lincoln already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lincoln breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lincoln paves the way for another one to be saved.
