My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coconut is a 5 year old Maltese mix. He arrived at the shelter with 28 other dogs that were rescued from a hoarding case in Northwestern Ohio. The dogs belonged to a basement breeder. Friendship Director, Greg Willey and several other rescues traveled to the Ohio/Michigan border to save a total of almost 200 dogs. The dogs were kept in small cages, ungroomed and experienced very little socialization or stimulation. Now every experience for them is a new one. All are gentle and not nippy. They are curious and already enjoying their new encounters. They will need experienced owners that will give them lots of time, patience, training and love to slowly start their new lives. All have been adopted but 4 and many adopters have reported back that the dogs are doing great. None of the dogs have been returned to the shelter.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
