found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Kiwi is approximately 3 years-old and about 45 pounds of pure love. She is (our best guess) an American Staffordshire Terrier mix who knows basic commands and wants so badly to please her people. She knows sit, come, down (which usually results in her on her on back, belly up), and is working on stay.
She LOVES everyone that she has met so far! She greets everyone with a wagging tail and within a few moments of meeting people she is in her favorite pose, belly up! Kiwi would likely benefit from some confidence building, as she can be a bit insecure at times -- training classes would be great for her!!
Kiwi lives in a home with two larger breed dogs and a small breed dog, a cat, and two children ages one year old and six years old. She is WONDERFUL with the kids and has been wonderful with the cat as well. Kiwi's foster mom has been introducing Kiwi slowly to her resident dogs, as they can be a bit picky about their canine friends, but so far she has done very well. She tends to roll over on her back right away, but then bounces up and wants to play! She takes correction well from the other dogs.
She appears to be housebroken as she has had zero accidents in her foster home and waits patiently to go outside to do her business. Kiwi is a lower- to mid-energy dog so far. Kiwi does very well on a leash and rarely pulls. She enjoys walks but sometimes lags behind as would prefer to sniff around rather than go for a long hike. This may change as she settles in more. She does appear that she would swim as she is certainly not afraid of the water. She walks right in and on a warmer day, she rolled around in the river.
Kiwi LOVES toys, specifically rope toys and tennis balls. She loves to play fetch and is receptive to the drop command. She LOVES to snuggle. She rarely barks and has been wonderful hanging out in the sun room when no one is home, although she would likely do well crated also. Kiwi is an affectionate and loving dog that will make a great family member!
Kiwi’s adoption fee is $250 and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
