My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Initial Bio 5/9/15 Meet Otis Otis is all puppy. He is a 9 month old Maltese mix, though we are not sure mixed with what. He is 12 pounds of adorable fun and love. He is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Otis just arrived and what an arrival. He is just the happiest, most loving, not too little, puppy. He just can't stop giving everyone love and kisses. He only wants to play, and run, and give kisses, and cuddle on your lap, until he is ready to play again.

Otis was initially thought to be a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix), since that is how he was listed on his former owner's paperwork. It is more likely he is a Maltese mix with possibly poodle or even Bichon. Whatever he is, he is just the most gorgeous, sweetest fellow.

Otis was surrendered by his owner when they realized that a puppy needed more then they could give. Being a puppy he is full of puppy energy and demands a lot of time and attention. Otis went to puppy school and he knows a lot of commands. He will sit, stay, and lay down, at your command, though for not too long. When he reaches his puppy limit and is done he wants to be up and play again. As he grows up his attention span will last longer.

Otis does not have a mean bone in his beautiful body, he is just one fluff ball full of fun and love. He is everybody's friend, two or four legs, it doesn't matter to Otis. Even the cats are his friends, and he is very nice to them.

Otis is great in the car. According to his former owners he is house trained to a potty pad and to go outside. He is leash trained as well, but he definitely needs a fenced yard that is secure into the ground. He loves to run after the birds, lizards, and squirrels. It great fun for him to chase or be chased by another four legged friend. A fenced yard will be important in finding him the best forever home.

Otis would love another young dog to play with. He will not be happy in a home with a dog who will not play with him. Being a bigger dog and very playful, Otis would do great in a family with kids 8 years old or older. Otis does not like the crate. He would be very unhappy being alone or crated for hours each day. He needs someone who is home enough of the time to give him the love and attention he needs.

Remember Otis is a puppy and full of puppy energy. He will not do well to sit all day long, He needs an active family. At only 9 months old he needs a family who can give him at least a 15 years commitment of a forever home.

If you think you are the right family for Otis please fill out an adoption application. Otis is in perfect health. He is fully vetted and already neutered. He only needs his microchip and he is ready to be adopted.

If you want a house full of puppy love, kisses, and fun, Otis is the pup for you.
