Mr. Bones's Story...
I may be the most affectionate cat you will ever meet. You would never know I came to DHA merely skin and bones from a hoarding situation where I was not well cared for. They have nursed me back to a healthy weight and I'm ready to be adopted! I am nine years old and probably at least part Siamese. I love to shoulder ride - yes, I will climb on your shoulder and be your companion as you (try) to go about your business.I will even hug you! I adore everyone I meet and I crave attention. I would like to find a family that would enjoy petting, brushing, holding and loving me. I was ignored for too long in my old home. Now is my time to be adored.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. Bones, a Wilmington Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
