Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy...you got alot of splanin' to do!
How does a blonde bombshell like this end up in rescue? Well, some situations are just unavoidable. A young man got this beauty and had her for a short time before he found out he was heading off to boot camp. Leaving his best girl and his own Dad behind wasn't easy but his country was calling him and he was answering the call.
With Dad working very long shifts and feeling as if he was neglecting Lucy, he had to make a decision. A shelter surrender was out of the question but a rescue could find Lucy a new loving home. We heard his call and we answered him...with honors.
Lucy is absolutely beautiful. She is just a puppy but with such a heart of gold and not a mean bone in her body. She is fostered with 2 black labs that showed her what fun it is to play with other dogs in a big back yard. Lucy is not alpha material and she is just fine with that.
Lucy is learning some basic commands, how to behave like a little lady in the car, how to walk on a leash with the pack and how to share toys.
Lucy is enjoying her lessons and passing with flying colors.
One of the things Lucy finds comforting is when her foster mom is working on the computer, Lucy will crawl up on the same soft chair the foster mom is sitting on and lay behind her and fall asleep. Once in awhile Lucy will wake, look over the foster mom's shoulder and put her head close to her foster mom's, then go back to napping.
Lucy loves to play with children and run in the yard, so A COMPLETELY FENCED YARD IS A MUST. She is still a puppy herself so very small children would unintentionally get knocked down.
Lucy is a yellow Labrador/Shar Pei mix, 7 months old, 50 pounds, UTD on vaccinations, spayed and micro chipped.
