Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! I am Mary and I am one of the happiest Chihuahuas you will meet! I am SOOOOO grateful for the folks at Empty Shelter Project since they came ALL THE WAY from Virginia to New Mexico to spring me (and 40 of my closest Chihuahua friends) from a pretty bad situation. I heard that my time was just about up down there! This is why when you see me my tail is almost always just wagging away. I am SO HAPPY!\r\nMy fosters are great folks that have invited me into their home. I have jumped right in to their pack of 3 other dogs and we all get along great. We get fed twice a day and they take me on 2 ~ 3 walks a day so I can do my businesses outside. I wouldn’t consider having an accident inside!\r\nI am not exactly sure when I was born (that was a LONG time ago) but my fosters tell me that (based on my teeth) I am about 2 ~ 3 years old. I weigh less than 10 pounds and I am fully grown.\r\nI enjoy hanging out with my new pack! We get along great all the time. When we are out for our walks we all hang out together and if I happen to see a silly cat or rabbit I just give it a passing glance and keep going along my ‘merry’ way! When we eat everybody gets pretty much the same dish so we all just give each other our space and munch away.\r\nI am not too sure about play time yet, so I prefer to hop up on the couch as high up as I can get and observe everything that is going on. I also like to crawl into my foster’s lap sometime if I hear loud noise or if something is going on that I do not quite understand. Usually though it is enough for me just to hang out on my own and be close by to my fosters.\r\nI have not had much experience with these ‘little people’ that come around during the adoption events. My fosters do not have any of these little folks in their house so I have not been really tested around them. I have not shown any aggression to these little ones at the adoption events though so I am sure I would get along just fine in a new home with some of these little people.\r\nWhen bedtime rolls around I go to the room (my fosters call it a crate) that I share with another foster, Latte. We just cuddle up together and catch some Z’s. Personally I do not need Latte around but the poor thing needs someone to take the lead so I am showing her the ropes while we are fostered together. Sometimes my fosters give me an extra special treat and let me sleep in bed with them and their other Chihuahua! So I just stretch out in between them and COULD not be more relaxed! Northern Virginia applicants only.
