Kobe was rescued from a terrible situation where he was kept in a crate for 23 hours a day! Thankfully, that didn't change his feelings for humans - he loves being with his people! He's not overly affectionate but if you ask him for kisses, this sweet boy will happily give you one! He likes snuggling, enjoys receiving attention and can't get enough belly rubs! It's easy to love Kobe - he's so beautiful with that gorgeous smile & those happy eyes!
Playful & highly energetic, Kobe is looking for an active Forever Home. He needs daily exercise & play to keep his energy levels low so he stays happy & healthy. He's an excellent running partner, likes going on hikes and has the best time when he goes on 5 mile runs with his Foster Dad a few times a week! This sweet guy loves toys, especially squeaky ones, and his favorite is an orange squeaky ball that he plays with for hours. He loves playing fetch with it and will bring it right back to have it thrown again! When it comes to water, Kobe can't get enough! He has a blast playing in water, whether it's a creek, lake, kiddie pool or mud puddle and he loves playing with the water hose at his Foster Home, chasing the water. When it's time to relax, this handsome hunk likes to eat a few treats then take a nap on his dog bed or curl up on the couch.
Kobe is a very smart boy who would be happiest in a home with a dominant yet kind personality so he knows who's in charge. He may not listen well all the time but he definitely understands what's being said. He knows the commands Sit, Stay, Down and Paw, and with some treats, he might be willing to learn more! A good boy when left alone, he doesn't need to be crated and rarely hangs out in one except to nap. He loves going for walks & runs but needs to be watched when other dogs are around as he's not a fan of other dogs. He's become buddies with a neighbor's dog so we'll consider a home with a dog, if the right dog comes along. Going for car rides is one of Kobe's favorite activities and he's a well-behaved passenger who sticks his beautiful head out the window and enjoys the fresh air! We don't recommend taking him to public places because he tends to be shy & skittish around people he doesn't know, and he prefers being around kids who are at least 15 years old. This gorgeous guy doesn't like going to the Vet so we recommend putting a muzzle on him for Vet visits, just to be on the safe side.
Kobe will be a great companion & best friend and will thrive in an active Forever Home without pets or young kids!
