Facts about Mysty

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: S2015158
  • Hair: Short
At almost 3 years old Mysty is getting tired of being in the shelter. Being here for a year has made her lose hope of getting a home. She just doesn't understand why nobody will take her home, even if she persistently follows them around the shelter. She plays nice with other cats, there may be a clash over who has the softer fur, but Mysty knows that she will win that battle. She chirps and squeaks whenever you bring a treat bag out (although, one or two will do!) and will sometimes even do a little dance for you. Mysty would really love to be in a medium-activity level home, you know, someone home most of the day, head scratches in the morning, then a little play time and maybe some treats (have I mentioned she loves treats?) and then nap the afternoon away (until dinner!). She loves to play, but, new cat parents might not understand when she needs some alone time, and when the play gets a little rough. She can be very spirited, and sometimes that spirit gets a little too out of hand (she showed that vacuum who was boss!). She would prefer an adult only home, or very cat experienced older children. Mysty just wants you to understand that she is the ruler of the household and she will decide when the humans can give her attention (but treats are great anytime). As she sits by my feet going on and on about what she wants in her new home (or maybe she just wants food, who the heck knows), she really just wants to go home. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! You can come to our facility Monday thru Friday from 5 pm to 7 pm, Saturday from noon to 4 pm, Sunday from 1 pm to 3 pm, and other times by appointment - Call 860-291-9396 for additional information or email

Please understand that the cats behavior in the shelter is usually not what it will be like in your home, if the cat is nervous, anxious, or aggressive at the time please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat.

Kitten Policy: It is important to understand that socialization of kittens with other animals as playmates is important for their development. Therefore, CCC has a policy that kittens are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion. Due to demand, we are unable to place kittens on hold.
