Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Flax is a 10 week old lab mix, who weighs 20 pounds. She and her siblings were placed with Adopt A Pet when their owner couldn't find good homes for them: she wanted them to be inside dogs and treated as part of the family. We know Flax's mom is a 60 pound short legged black lab; dad, we were told, is probably the yellow lab mix that runs loose in the neighborhood. (From her ears, we are guessing that dad is part hound!) We know Flax grew up with other dogs, cats, pigs, and children. She came to us already crate trained, and is well on the way to being potty trained.
Because she is still a baby, she should not be left alone for long hours and will need a stay-at-home person to continue her housebreaking, socialization and general obedience. She will be ready for puppy school soon after adoption. You can meet Flax at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750). Although you may want to adopt her on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first. Flax's date of birth is 2-26-15 and her adoption fee of $350 includes: vet exam, distemper combo and bordetella vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick preventative, heart worm preventative, microchip and spay.
Flax is a very outgoing, spunky girl, with lots of puppy energy. She would be the perfect addition for an active family!
