My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Arya. Her smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. Arya's foster mom knows it's morning when Arya's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a huge kiss of love. This curious and really, really smart 18 - 24 month old, 32 lb mix (such a great medium size..perfect for hiking and just right to take everywhere a sweet pup is welcome) is a truly great companion. There aren't many visible signs that Arya was in a very scary high-kill shelter. She's sometimes shy and can hold back in certain situations..but a warm hug and reassuring words..and Arya bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer.
We picture Arya as the best friend to active retirees. She'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share her love and good will. There's also no question that Arya would be the most popular girl on the block. Once comfortable, she loves to engage and just be her entertaining, adorable self. Even though Anya is usually up for pretty much any activity, she's never pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps long, leisurely walks to socialize with neighbors..and mental stimulation that comes from her time with her humans is important to this kind girl to keep her happy and well-behaved. it's not that she requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep her healthy and stimulated. Anya would also enjoy time with gentle, dog-loving kids. She's such an easy-going pup..but we wouldn't want her tail being pulled or anything but the gentlest of handling. Anya derives so much joy from her relationships, we would love to see her in an active family that just loves her dearly...she's a great dog who deserves this in her life. It also appears (after some research on our part) that Border Terrier/Corgi mixes are wonderful. They tend to be so cute, mellow and the most devoted of companions...combined with the energy and inquisitive nature of the Border Terrier, you end up with a humorous and loyal family member.
Arya appears to be a non-shedder...although we'll know for sure once her sad shelter hair grows out and we see the beauty of her coat after the benefit of healthy food and clean conditions. Arya will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her stunning cinnamon coat cotton-soft and matt-free.

Arya is being fostered in Denver. We're currently accepting applications and setting up Meet and Greets for this wonderful dog. If interested in this sweet and very endearing companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
