Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a spunky little kitten with gorgeous pale and dark gray markings and beautiful green eyes. Lucy loves to play! At any given time you will find Lucy running through the house, grabbing any paper or toy she can find and playing with it. She will allow you to hold her for a little while as long as it doesn't interfere with her games and then wants to get back to playing! Lucy is a BIG talker! She tells you when she wants something and will "talk" back to you when you talk to her. She does love to cuddle when she is sleepy and will curl up with her sister Sara if she is near. Lucy and Sara wrestle and play together all day, and Lucy loves to jump and play inside laundry baskets or boxes. Lucy has been living with small children and she is good with the kids, and allows them to hold her for a little while (longer if she is ready for a nap). She holds her own with our older cat and likes to follow him around to see what he is up to as well. Lucy likes to sleep at the end of our bed at night. Lucy will keep you laughing with her shenanigans and will be a wonderful addition to
a family. Lucy is fostered in Huntsville, AL. To learn more about her (and her sister Sara) please email If you'd like to meet her, the first step is our application at Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Homewood Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
