Zane's Story...
Zane is a 4-year-old blue Great Dane. He was turned to a kill shelter with his mate Luna. Zane was used as a stud dog to produce puppies, but no more. Zane is sweet with people. He is good with other dogs, but because he was used as breeding dog, we will not put him in a home with another male dog, but he will be fine with another female and small dogs. He knows some basic command, but definitely needs some additional training. He also needs to gain some weight because he is very skinny.

If interested in giving Zane a new home, please fill out the adoption application on our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zane, a Austin Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Austin, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
