Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Phineus is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wiggle. Once he gets a sudsy bath and grooming...he'll absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At 18 - 24 months old and a tiny 4.5 lbs, Phineus is every bit the young and joyful guy...fun and active....but at the same time he is a very well-behaved pup who is not yappy or unnecessarily needy - he expresses himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses. At this early point in Phineus's development, he loves everyone..be it human, canine..and even feline. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Phin to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Phineus to be loved and petted and given the gift of socialization to make him the very best adult dog he's capable of being. Right now, Phineus is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved guy around. We'd also like Phin to be with gentle children who are absolutely dog-crazy along with an active adult family that will include this sweet and fun guy in their activities. Phineus is so portable that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Phin loves being outside in the warm sunshine..therefore a hike in the beautiful Colorado mountains would really speak to this little guy. Being a tiny pup, when Phineus's little legs get too tired...bring along a backpack that he can snuggle in and he'd love nothing more than to watch the view from above. Phin is young enough that he is open to being introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Phin's new family needs to have the motivation and energy for a young dog...he requires behavioral guidance, tons of love to give him a positive attitude about the world and a warm lap to welcome him at the end of a busy day.
Phineus may not be neutered when he arrives on transport in Denver -this rural Kansas area has far too many dogs and not enough vets to fix these pups before they leave the area. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs to neuter and microchip Phineus at our Denver vet immediately after his arrival in Colorado.
Phineus appears to be a non-shedding guy (we'll know for sure after he loses his sad shelter coat) and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
Phineus will arrive on transport in Denver on Tuesday 5/19/2015. If interested in this sweet and very endearing companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
