My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sawyer was recognized in a very high-kill Kansas shelter for a beautiful face (with the most amazing and expressive eyes you can imagine) and a truly great temperament. His sweet little face peering out from the dim light of his cage was too much for the hearts of the awesome Kansas volunteers. Together... all made the decision that this exceptional Labradoodle had to be saved. Sawyer is just a baby at about 6 months old and 29 lbs (the vets anticipate Sawyer being about 50 lbs when he's full-grown) with his entire life stretching out in front of him. One thing has always been consistent with Sawyer...he steals the hearts of everyone involved in his care. His gorgeous and very expressive face speaks of so much love...yet just a touch of pain. Who could leave this beautiful being behind...that's a question no one can understand about the path of Sawyer's life. When a dog ends up on death row that is so filled with hope and promise...Farfel's and all our volunteers search for a great match that will commit to loving and caring for him for life.
We can see Sawyer with a couple or individual who is retired or has flexible time to spend walking and pursuing outdoor adventures with a striking chocolate Doodle in tow. Sawyer is such a smart and curious guy that we think he would be a star in positive-reinforcement group obedience class. He would love the learning challenge and we have no doubt he will excel in learning skills that he will use his entire life.
Sawyer would also enjoy gentle children and other dogs in his home ....he would thrive on the fun and fulfillment that he would enjoy. Sawyer would love nothing more than to be a large lap dog (or couch partner) for anyone who would choose to spend a good deal of time with a fuzzy best friend as their best companion. He's extremely pleasant and positive about life in general (after all...he got rescued!) and loves to pass those upbeat feelings along to all he meets Sawyer can easily fit into almost any family scenario with ease as long as he's loved and stimulated with exercise and mental exchanges.
Sawyer is a non-shedding guy and therefore will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his beautiful coat healthy and matt-free.
Sawyer's photo is his -just rescued- image...he has blossomed into an extraordinarily gorgeous and kind pup who grows sweeter and more devoted each day.
Sawyer has been fully vetted, vaccinated and temperament tested to fulfill our commitment to adopt out healthy and well-adjusted pups. We've requested that he be neutered in Kansas prior to his transport to Colorado. We aren't optimistic that this will occur as there are too many dogs and not enough vets in this rural area of Kansas. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Sawyer's neuter and microchip (if our Denver vet is used) immediately upon his arrival in Colorado.

Sawyer will be arriving on transport in Denver on Tuesday 5/1/15. If interested in this sweet and very endearing Doodle, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
