Abner's Story...
Abner is an adorable little guy, approximately 2 years old and weighing maybe 18#. He was rescued from the local animal shelter as a stray. He has recently been placed in foster care and it turns out he is just about a perfect little fella, housebroken, easygoing, walks great on a leash, loves to ride in the card and also loves children and people. Abner also doesn't mind dogs and from his nature, more than likely will do OK with cats. He's a sweet little guy, full of himself and has lots of energy so would love to run around and play in a fenced in yard as someone's family pet. He can even dance! We also have 7-day a week cats at the Petsmart Store in Winder, Hwy. 316 and 81, for viewing and adoption. For a pre-adoption application please e-mail a request to the e-mail address at the bottom. PAC adoption days are held every Saturday from 11:30AM to 3:30PM at the PetSmarts in Buford (across from the Mall of Georgia) and at the Winder/Bethlehem located at Hwys. 316 and 81.

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abner, a Winder Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Pomeranian for sale in Winder, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Winder.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winder already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winder breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Pomeranian breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winder paves the way for another one to be saved.
