Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mackerel! We were told his mom is a lab by the Good Samaritan who found these pups, and took Mackerel and his siblings to the vet. (He also fed them fish scraps, which is why they are named after fish!) Mackerel is a sweet, gentle boy, who already knows to potty outside. He is good with other dogs, and great with kids. Although a bit shy at first, he warms up very quickly and loves attention and affection. He is currently 12 weeks old and weighs about 18 pounds.
Because he is still young, he should not be left alone for long hours and will need a stay-at-home person to continue his housebreaking, socialization and general obedience. He will be ready for puppy school soon after adoption. You can meet Mackerel at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first. His date of birth is 2-14-15 and his adoption fee of $350 includes: vet exam, distemper combo and bordetella vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick preventative, heart worm preventative, microchip and neuter.
