My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Caesar. I am a 2-month-old male Terrier mix puppy. I weigh about 5 pounds right now, but I definitely have some growing to do. My mom weighs about 30 pounds, so my human friends think I'll be around the same size.

I'm super sweet, very playful, and oh-so-fun to be around. I'm telling you, endless entertainment. There's never a dull moment when I am in the room!

My favorite things to do are eat, sleep, and play. You know, your standard puppy stuff.

You want to hear the story of how I got here? If so, do continue reading.

My friends found my mom at a local high-kill shelter. When they saw her, they knew she needed out. She had such a severe case of mange that she was bleeding in several different spots on her back. She couldn't even roll over for belly rubs without opening up a scab. Sad, right? It was decided right then and there that she would become a CageFree rescue. They pulled her from the shelter and sent her to see their private vet. She was put on medication, but due to the severity of the mange, it was going to be a long road to recovery. Several weeks went by - in fact, it had been nearly a month and a half when suddenly my friends noticed that she was starting to put on a lot of weight. They sent her back to the vet to find out what the deal was and boy were they surprised. When they got the phone call saying that she had at least 4 puppies in her belly, they couldn't believe what they had heard. Just two weeks later, on Easter Sunday, 7 of us popped out!

Our mom was great! Being a puppy herself, my friends weren't sure how she was going to do. Luckily for us, she took her job seriously. She was very protective of us and she always made sure that we had full bellies and that our den was spotless. I'm telling you, she was the best!

What usually happens when moms have a litter is that the puppies are adopted very quickly and the momma sits and waits. In our case, Mom was adopted before we were even weaned. She stayed with us until we were old enough to be without her and then she headed out to her new life. We miss her terribly, but we are very excited to start our own journey.

If you are interested in adopting me, or any of my other siblings, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to meet us. We won't be here long so don't miss out on your opportunity to welcome one of us into your home!
