My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brutus is an active dog that is looking for an active family. He's a 2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix that was surrendered to Friendship because his family was moving. Brutus has been with small children and played nicely. Brutus is a social butterfly that lived with another big dog but has never been around cats. He loves Nyla Bones but doesn't really play with any other toys. Brutus enjoys snuggling and slept with the owner's mother. This fellow has a great energy that makes you like him as soon as you meet him.

On June 16, 2015, Brutus was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. He will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.

If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. This dog will be returning to Friendship in a few weeks so get your adoption app in ASAP. You can find an app at friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. Hand deliver the app to Friendship or call if you live a distance away to see if you can fax one in. Please do not email the app.

If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321. Or email at adoptions@friendshipapl.org.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
