My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.

My name is Rosie and I am a 4 year old spayed female Pug who came to NBS Animal Rescue when my owner passed away and the rest of my family was unable to care for myself and my friend Oscar. Thankfully some kind shelter volunteers helped network Oscar and myself and the awesome folks at NBS Animal Rescue came to pick us up from the shelter right away and help us get the medical attention we needed.

I am a sweet and loving little lady who can be a little shy around new people at first, but I warm up very quickly with some soft words and a tasty treat. My previous owner fed me a lot of people food and I sadly got a bit overweight...ok...a lot overweight. My foster mom and dad are helping me to stick to a healthy diet and we now go for evening walks together when the weather is nice and cool. I love going for walks! My foster home has a fenced in yard that I just LOVE - I zoom around in circles, roll in the grass, and love to sit by my foster mom's feet while she reads a book on the back patio. I would really like a home that has a fenced yard because I love it so much!

I am potty trained and know how to go outside to do my business. I do not like to be crated and am trustworthy to be left out in the house when you are at work. I can't hold it very long, so I need a home with a family who is home often and not gone for long amounts of time. My previous owner was home all the time, and I loved being close to her - I really want a home where my family will be home with me most of the day so I am not home alone a lot. I am good with other dogs who are friendly and mellow, and to my foster mom's knowledge, I've never really met a cat before.

My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me? These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!

- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods at a time.
- 100% fenced in yard.

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family, please follow these steps:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
