Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This dog is being fostered in Dallas, Texas and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or Oklahoma area.
NAME: Abby
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 3 years
WEIGHT: About 7 pounds (needs to lose 1 - 2 pounds)
COAT: Long Haired Chihuahua
DOGS/CATS: Good with other small dogs, No with big dogs, Unsure on cats
CHILDREN: All adult home or home with older children (16 and older)
Meet Abby, a three year old long haired Chihuahua. This girl is a cutie pie who will capture your heart when you meet her. She has a black and white coat and soft brown eyes that will melt you. And we love her ears!
Abby was found as a stray and her original family could not be found. CRT has agreed to take her into our program and help her find a forever home that will keep her safe for her growing up years.
Abby is a laid back and quiet little girl. She is very shy when you first meet her. Once she warms up to you, she just wants to hang out and be loved. She loves to be held and loves to be in your lap. She would adore a family who was at home a lot and wanted to hang out in a low key way together. Molly likes to be in her kennel - it is her comfort zone. So when she is not laying on your lap, you might find her chilling in her soft kennel bed!
Abby gets along with the other small dogs in her foster family. She is not comfortable around larger dogs. We think she would do well as an only dog, or with another small dog in the family.
Abby is very smart. She is crate trained, and as we mentioned, feels very comfortable in a crate. She is also pee pee pad trained and is making great progress with her house training. Abby currently weighs about 7 pounds, but she should be closer to 5.5 pounds. So we have her on a diet to help her get her beautiful figure back! She is about three years old and has many wonderful years of love and activity ahead.
Due to Abby's shy personality, we recommend that she be adopted into an all adult home or a home with older children (16 and older). We believe she would be nervous around younger children.
Abby is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?
