Allegra's Story...
Allegra is one of 5 kittens that Infinite Hope rescued from behind an Italian Social Club in Brooklyn. She is sweet and curious and usually the first of the bunch to try something new. Allegra is always interested in people. Her bright blue eyes follow you everywhere. She and her siblings Angela, Carlo, Dante and Francesca are all looking for homes. Unfortunately, they have all tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), a virus that inhibits a cat's immune system. Cats with FeLV can have many happy years, though their life expectancy is lower than cats without the virus. These kittens will need to be adopted to homes without other cats or to homes with another FeLV positive cat. Contact us for more information and an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Allegra, a Brooklyn Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
