Here's what the humans have to say about me:
WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA
Takoda, whose name means "friend to everyone" in the Native American Sioux language, is an energetic young Husky who loves to run, run, run. He takes naps off and on during the day to re-energize himself for play time. He is very affectionate and enjoys giving face licks to those he meets. It is hard to imagine that this "short, dark, and handsome" Husky was found as a stray. He is thin and on the small side for a male but will likely fill out to his appropriate size.
He gets along with other dogs and gets very excited when he gets to meet a new friend. He enjoys playing with them, including that typical doggie wrestling. Being young he has not quite outgrown the chewing stage, so plenty of chew toys, including Nylabones or antlers are a must have in his toy box. Takoda appears to be housebroken and is crate trained, although he cries when left alone as most young dogs do.
Takoda travels well in the car, curling up on the seat to take a power nap so that he’s ready to go once he reaches his destination. He knows the sit command and will wait patiently for his treat. Takoda is very food motivated, listens very well when corrected, and appears eager to learn.
Takoda is Heartworm positive and will be treated using the "slow kill" method. SHRF will provide his adopter with instructions on this method as well as supply the Heartworm medication. He is otherwise healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. This boy is a real winner; make yourself one too; fill out an adoption application on our website, www.siberrescue.com, today.
