Raven's Story...
Raven is a beautiful lab girl we rescued from a rural shelter outside of Memphis. She had been at this same shelter for over 4 months and her face was haunting us. We didn't have a plan- but we rescued her anyway. Shortly after, everything fell into place and a wonderful foster family stepped up. She is estimated to be between 1-2 years old. Her foster family reports that she is great with other dogs of all sizes, cats, and children. After about 15 minutes of playing fetch she is ready to cuddle up on the couch. Unfortunately, she has tested positive for heartworms. She has begun treatment and will she done with it early August. Raven is really enjoying life with a soft bed and foster siblings to play with, but her story doesn't end here. She needs her happily ever after. If you are interested in giving Raven her forever home please email us at wilsonanimalrescue@yahoo.com. Her local adoption fee is $250 and includes her vaccines, spay, microchip and 6 month proheart injection, and heartworm treatment.

*Raven is available for foster to adopt in the Memphis area while she undergoes heartworm treatment.*

** Raven is in need of a foster home beginning late June, 2015. Please contact us if you would like to foster her. All expenses are paid by the rescue and a kennel is provided.**

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Raven, a Memphis Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Memphis, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Memphis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Memphis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Memphis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Memphis paves the way for another one to be saved.
