My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sarah. We pulled Sarah along with 3 other small breed dogs (all under 10 lbs each) from a high kill shelter where they were dumped by their owner. When we arrived at the pound the 4 of them was huddled together shaking uncontrollable with fear. It was the most heart wrenching sight to see. Three of them were terriers, including Winnie, and were a matted mess. They had clearly been neglected. All needed immediate medical attention and then a good grooming.

Sarah is a special girl. She is a total lap dog. If you are sitting she wants to be in your lap. She loves to curl in a little ball and sleep. She is not a big barker but when she does bark it is the cutest little bark ever. She is a little shy but does like to give tiny kisses. She does great with other dogs and is curious about cats. Sarah walks excellent on a leash and enjoys laying out in the sunshine on a warm day. I do not have small children so I am unsure how she would be around kids. She would most likely be fine but being a small nervous breed it may be too much on her. We can kid test her if needed. Sarah is as sweet as sugar and you are sure to fall head over hills in love with her.

Sarah is a Shih Tzu/Terrier mix and weighs 8 lbs. Her birthday is estimated to be 4/15/2011. She is 4 years young. Sarah is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, heart worm negative and on preventatives. Sarah also had a dental so her teeth are pearly white. Her little teeth are crooked but the vet did not see reason to pull any as there was no medical reason to. We think her little crooked smile is beyond adorable. Sarah is completely healthy now and is looking for her very own family, a place to call home. Sarah will need a few days to warm up to a new home. She is shy at first. The first few days after pulling her from the pound she would not leave her bed. She was scared. We would go get her and lay her beside us or in our lap. Finally after doing this a few days Sarah opened right up. She is now the first one to come running in the morning when she hears you wake up. She wants to be wherever you are. If you are looking for an adorable little girl to keep you company and lay in your lap or near you at all times then Sarah is your girl. Sarah is beyond precious. She is one that will steal your heart before you even know it. ADOPTION FEE $500
