Meet Darling Darla.
Darla is a 4-5 year old white Dane who recently came into rescue. She may be deaf and blind, but she is as close to perfect as they come.

Darla is a very sweet, calm and smart dog who quickly integrated into her foster family of Dane siblings. It only took one day of scent training to learn where her bed, her bowl and the door are, and it is very easy to communicate with Darla by touch.

Darla makes her way around the house and the yard off leash without a problem. She walks slowly, sniffing the ground and feeling terrain changes as she goes. Darla can find her way back to the house and up the ramp to come inside. But Darla absolutely loves to go for walks and gets excited when on leash. With a sense of security, her tail starts wagging and off she goes with her head held high, sniffing the country air and all its smells.

Weighing only 105 lbs., Darla is a petite, non-drooling Dane, who is very ladylike and will not rush to get out the door before you. She loves to lean in for hugs and will give kisses in your ear. Darla is very gentle without an aggressive bone in her body. She gets along well with cats too.

Darla will be ready for adoption in June/July, once her medical has been completed. She would love to live in a calm environment with someone who enjoys daily walks and is home a good portion of the day and night. Her adoptive home will be required to have a fenced yard.
