My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HARLEY: 11 Year Yellow Lab Male Neutered 85 Pounds

We adopted Harley out in 2013 and unfortunately the adopters can no longer keep him. Their schedules have changed and they feel it is not fair to Harley to be left alone for such long periods.

From the current owners:

Harley is a great dog! He is extremely loving and loyal. He bonded with us immediately and never wants to leave our sides. He is very affectionate and always greets us at the door with much enthusiasm. Harley loves to go to the dog park as much as he just loves to lay at our feet and keep us company. He loves to play with his ball and toys and he loves a bully stick. He loves it when people come over to visit and he is very gentle with children. He loves to play with our kids and one of his favorite things is belly rubs. We can count on him for great companionship. He is a very sensitive dog and when we are stressed at home he will come over and give us a little more attention. Harley is a very smart dog and knows many commands. Sit, stay, shake and down. He loves to ride in the car and of course he loves to swim. Harley pulls on the leash so we would recommend for him to be walked with a correction collar. He is still very active for his age so we would recommend a home not with small kids. He is great with all dogs and loves to go to the dog park and run around.

Why GGLRR got Harley two years ago:

What a love bug! This boy could not be sweeter. Lab Rescue found Harley when his vet contacted us as his owner couldn't keep him. The owner took him to the Vet to have but down as he was not able to protect himself any longer from the other dogs in the home. The Vet contacted Lab Rescue as they refused to put Harley down as he had more life to live and he was a wonderful boy! We met him and saw how sweet he was and knew we could find him a home where he'd get the love and attention he deserved.

Harley is located in Palo Alto.

If you have the time for this happy boy and want him to be a part of your family, please contact Liz at liz@jobshopsf.com.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
