As much as we try and come up with something terribly clever to say about Evan, “sweet and happy” are the words that always come to mind. Evan has a few scars to prove his early life may not have been so easy but it has not affected his outlook on the world. You cannot help but smile when you look at his happy face and wagging tail. Don't let those scars on his face fool you; his heart is open and warm!

Evan does okay with other dogs but does seem to be a bit of a (doggie) ladies man.He is not very interested in our cats but we would still recommend supervision if going to household with a feline member.

We estimate that Evan is 2-3 years old. He was heartworm positive when he came to us but has completed treatment. He is up to date on all vaccines and preventive care. Evan is truly a wonderful dog deserving of a loving home.

About Maggie's Mission

About Our Rescue Group...

Maggie's Mission has been rescuing primarily dogs and horses from ill fate for over 10 years. Maggie Muirden & Sarah Aitken, are passionate about saving the lives of furry friends. With the help of foster homes and great volunteers, this organization has been able to save and re-home numerous dogs and horses in Northeast Ohio.

Many of Maggie's Mission rescue dogs were saved from urgent situations at the Cleveland Animal Control Facility, as well as other over-flowing shelters in the Northeast Ohio region. Maggie has a special love for horses, and many of the horses for adoption were rescued from auctions in Sugar Creek, Ohio.

Our Adoption Process...

Did you find a pet to call your new best friend? Our first step is to have you fill out an Adoption Application. We will review your application and if it appears that your home would fit the animal you're interested in, we will call your vet reference. If we believe you would be the best home for the animal, we would arrange a meeting with you and any current pets to test compatibility.

Adoption fees are $175 for male dogs, and $200 for female dogs. All dogs will be spayed and neutered before we allow them to go to their forever homes. The final step is signing the adoption contract, which states clearly that if circumstances arise in which you cannot keep the pet, you return it to us.
