THIS SHAMUS….a precious, gold/white, 3 yr old, 13 lbs, Lhasa Tzu mix who came from the Carson Shelter with one of the worst skin infections we have ever seen. This little boy was so sweet, wagging his tail, when he was covered in yeast and a layer of crud on his neck and body.
Shamus’ profile pictures illustrate how much improvement can take place with a little time, wonderful care, healthy food, and the right medical treatment. Shamus is a phenomenal, spirited boy who lives to play! He loves to fetch a ball, esp one he can carry in his mouth! He plays with other dogs hours on end, so he MUST go to a home where there is another young, active dog to play with! Without activity, Shamus might get bored and mischievous! That being said, he is very gentle and respectful of older dogs. Shamus must go to a home where he will get long walks and/or jogs! He will be wonderful with kids, but they should be over 10 yrs old, as he is mouthy and plays HARD!! He can often mistaken your hand for a toy and then OUCH! The other side of Shamus is loving, cuddly and a snuggle bug and if you don’t want a dollbaby in your bed, he wouldn’t be the boy for you. He won’t demand it, because he is just so respectful…but you’ll want to give him all the love he deserves! We can’t say enough positive about this kissy boy. He is confident, loving, affectionate and intelligent…an old soul who deserves to be loved as he has never experienced before. When he is happy…he makes everyone around him happy. Would you allow Shamus to make you happy? Just give him a chance!!

UPDATE!!!! Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events most every Sunday at ROVER KENNELS on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Rover is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets.
Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!
