My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penelope is a 3 year old Tortie who was born to a feral mom. She and her siblings Lynx, Bandit, and Poe were found in the bushes at a gas station along a busy highway. Penelope has come a long way. Penelope is a social cat, who loves to be petted and played with by her foster mom. She tend to shy away from strangers, but is a very sweet, loving cat and just needs time to adjust to new environments.
When Penelope was spayed, the vet discovered that her ribcage is deformed. There is nothing that could be done, so watch for any signs of distress and watch her grow. We were told that the time frame for the key problems that might arise would be during the stage of rapid growth from 8 weeks to about 9 months old. Penelope is well past that time frame now and she has had no problems with her health. As with all of our cats in our program, Penelope must be an indoor only cat. This is also a special consideration because of her medical history. Penelope can be a normal cat and live a normal life, but she certainly would not have survived if she had not been rescued. Penelope would make a wonderful companion to a quiet family who can understand her needs. She is currently living with her foster family, but would love to find her "furever" home.
