Smokey's Story...
Hi there. I am Smokey and I appreciate the opportunity to get to know you today. I am a gentle, silvery beauty with soulful amber eyes.

After my first arrival at the shelter I was so happy to be adopted. Sadly I was returned, because my adopter had to travel so much that they couldn't care for me. I was so heartbroken after my return that I started to eat too much and my beautiful coat started to look shabby. Imagine what it's like to have to come back here after having a chance at a family. Needless to say, I'd like the next time I leave MaxFund to be the very last time!

Gratefully, I was moved to a quieter room and placed on a weight loss diet. Now my coat is returning to its original beauty and I am getting my girlish figure back. I am enjoying playtime and petting once again. I am hopeful again. I may be fine sharing my home with a gentle cat friendly dog or cat, given a proper gradual introduction. I probably will not need to stay on my special diet for long once I get into a home where I can run and play.

Please stop by and help to make my dreams of finding a real forever home become a happy reality.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Denver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Denver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
