Loki's Story...
Loki (aka Olaf) is a handsome red sable male German Shepherd who is about a year old and weighs about 70 pounds. He is a happy, puppyish boy who has a mischievous streak. He was rescued from the shelter and didn't get much training from his prior owner however he has been picking up his basic commands very well after being fostered with a trainer for several weeks. He didn't even know how to play with balls before but really enjoys chasing them now after being fostered with his trainer. Loki loves people, both men and women.

Loki walks well on leash, rides well in the car and is crate trained and house trained. He has played with a variety of dogs and is good with playful compatible dogs 30 pounds or larger. Loki has prey drive towards running animals (cats, deer) when he is off leash but is easy to walk around them on leash. Loki is a loving dog who has moderate energy and loves to go on walks and hikes. Due to his size he would be best for a family with some GSD experience and kids 10 years or older. He is going to be a very handsome addition for some lucky family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Loki, a Walnut Creek German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
