Jawa's Story...
Jawa | Female | Unknown |
Rescue Story: I come from one of Zoe's target communities.
Date of Birth: October 2014
Energy Level: Medium
Size (adult): 40 lbs
Good with Dogs? Yes
Good with Cats? Yes
Good with Kids? Unknown
Critter Confessions: I had a rough start in life but I'm still a little fearful in my foster home although my foster mom is helping me with that. Anytime I feel a little fearful or nervous, I paw at my foster mom and she gives me lots of lovely pets. I love treats and when they come out, I bite the air, just to remind my foster mom what to do! My foster mom's roommate sometimes carries me around like I'm a baby, but I think that's silly 'cause I'm clearly a dog!

About my Behaviour: I am a bit fearful of leashes, appliances and crossing the threshold (both heading inside and outside of the home) but I am slowly learning these skills with my foster mom. Despite that, I am a very affectionate dog who wags my tail the moment I see people. I've never been aggressive and housetraining is going well - I can also now sit on command.

How’s my Health? I have been vaccinated but has still to be spayed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jawa, a Edmonton Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Edmonton, or seeking a Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Edmonton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edmonton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edmonton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edmonton paves the way for another one to be saved.
