My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sam! Sam is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs 14 lbs. He is a bit larger than your average Chihuahua, and may be a German Pinscher mix. He is new to his foster home but so far he has been an excellent houseguest. He is very friendly with the dogs in the home and even plays here and there. Sam is skittish around new people and new noises but that is to be expected, and with lots of positive reinforcement and exposure that will be a thing of the past! He loves his foster mom, and loves to sit on her lap wherever she happens to be. He will run over to her for pets and lean his head and body into her and you can just feel his body relax. It's his version of a hug, and he does it all the time! Sam is great in his crate, walks nicely on a leash, and is working on housetraining. He loves treats and bones! He hasn't played with any toys yet but he is still adjusting. He will come running when called from wherever he is in the house, jump into his foster mom's lap and give her kisses. Sam is a sweetheart who will melt your heart when you meet him! His fur is a beautiful chestnut color, and it is the softest ever!

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
