Patches's Story...
Patches is about 1 year old. She came in as an owner surrender because he didn't have time for her. She is extremely submissive and we suspect she was abused but have no way to prove that. She is hand shy but is getting better. She loves everyone she meets. Very sweet girl. Seems nervous around other dogs, probably not properly socialized, so will need supervision as she doesn't seem to be very fond of other dogs or is just terrified of them. Otherwise she is a good little girl who is very smart and would learn quickly.

Act quickly to adopt Patches. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patches, a Franklin Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Franklin, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Franklin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Franklin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Franklin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Franklin paves the way for another one to be saved.
