Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The saddest, gentlest eyes we've ever seen...... An old soul...That's what we think of when we look at Maddi. Just a few years ago Maddi was a stray in an area in Missouri that has a lot of stray dogs. The odds were stacked against her, but Maddi was lucky. Somehow she found herself with a kind woman who adopted her. Maddi thought she had found her forever home. Her days of scrounging for food and sleeping on the streets were over--the woman loved Maddi. Maddi was spayed and given shots and put on heartworm preventative. Life was good. But sadly, Maddi's human mom got sick with cancer. Maddi didn't understand what was happening--all she knew is that her mom kept leaving for days at a time. She heard them talking about hospice and "making final arrangements", and the next thing she knew she was packed up in a crate and taken to a foster home.
Maddi is okay with being in a foster home. She gets along with the other dogs (both large and small) and the cats. But Maddi really misses having a home of her own. Maddi loves to be petted and to cuddle up with humans. She is a sweet, cuddly girl who loves to sit with you. But she also loves outdoor time and relishes running around outside. A fenced in yard would be ideal for Maddi.
Maddi is only 3 years old, and is completely housebroken. She needs a little more practice with walking on the leash (her foster mom is working on that) but otherwise has near perfect manners. She loves children and pretty much every human that she has ever met. She doesn't bark much. She is pretty close to being a perfect furkid.
This dog’s adoption fee is $225. Adopters must live within 150 miles or 3 hours drive of the Quad City area. For more information about Maddi, email Debbie@k9kindnessrescue.org or fill out an online application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org.
Maddi and K9 Kindness Rescue thank you for considering adoption through rescue for a new family companion!
