Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maximilian: 2 yr old male Exotic Shorthair Persian / Bombay mix
This beautiful boy came to us from Southern California. His mom was a breeder who got tired or maybe ill or distracted and she started letting her breeding stock loose together. She had bred Ragdolls, Exotic Shorthair Persians, and Bombay cats. Her life was difficult and pretty soon she had too many cats and rescue stepped into help her. You can see the shorthair Persian in Max in the flatness of his face and the plush even length of his marvelous fur. You can see the Bombay in him in his ears and little black panther body with its long expressive tail. It is actually a very cute mixture in this one of a kind boy.
Max is a plush, little, funny guy, such a character with his big round “headlight” eyes. Max is a cat that can really make you laugh. He races about and gets into all sorts of things (trouble). Like a kitten, the world is his toy.
He came to us very frightened from his long car ride. You could tell he had not had a great deal of one on one time with humans. Sudden noises and movements made him jump--some still do. He gets along well with other cats which is not surprising since he lived around cats. I don’t know about dogs. He loves food and will do just about anything for you if a treat is involved.
Max likes and solicits attention from folks he knows, but he can be shy with strangers. He would not be a good cat for children because I expect their sudden movements or sounds would make him jump. And run. He needs a family that is happy to watch him settle into his new life and get to know them in his own time frame. He will take a little time to learn to trust his new family. I am not talking about two weeks. It is hard to guess. I just want his adopters to be ready to give him the time he may need. He would love it if you would wiggle a feather for him to play with.
He is a very comical companion and will be wonderful at entertaining his family.
He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
