Starved pit bull at admissionRose Bud is a sweet little red nose pit bull who had a really rotten life until she got to rescue. She was found literally hours from death by starvation and brought to the rescue where she slowly regained her weight. She still needs to develop muscle. Rose Bud gets along great with other dogs and is a very loving dog. She follows staff around the rescue and is always happy to have a belly rub. This girl deserves to be the love of someone's life.

About Rusty's Legacy

About Our Rescue Group...

The mission of Rusty's Legacy is to save the lives of as many adoptable dogs while working towards a no kill community.

We believe that community education and low cost or free spay neuter is the road to assure that no healthy, adoptable dog will die.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Pet adoption events are held at the Black Mountain and Morganton Tractor Supply on alternate Saturdays. The rescue is open Thursday, Friday and Sunday and by appointment.

Pets can be met by appointment by calling Jeri at 828-460-3190 or email us at Rusty'sLegacyNC@aol.com

Our Adoption Process...

All vet references are checked, landlords, homeowner regulations and City/County regulations are verified prior to adoption. Adoption fees range from $75.00 to $200.00 depending upon age, breed and medical interventions provided while in rescue.

All dogs are indoor/outdoor dogs, there will be no dog left on a chain EVER, fenced in yards are preferred. Certain breeds of dogs will require prior experience with the breed or breed type.
