My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Patches came to us as 1 of 3 beautiful little dogs that could no longer stay where they were, because of a change in their family situation. At 10 years old, "Miss" Patches, as we like to call her, is a little fur baby with a big personality! She was a little shy upon first meeting, but as soon as she was in the car, she found the first available lap, and settled right down. She loves car rides and does very well traveling. She is very adaptable and a loving little lady. In her short time with us, she has stolen our hearts.....and even won over our Big Boy Douggie. He has decided that he is her big brother and protector....although she can handle herself in any situation....as Douggie quickly found out! She only had to put him in his place once, and now it's like they've lived together forever. She previously lived with 2 other small dogs, and is doing very well with her resident brother. She was tested around cats and little boys, and did very well with both. She loves to go for walks and is great on leash. She is content to just hang around the house, or office ... anywhere as long as she is with her human! She settles very quickly in new situations as long as she feels safe. We had a dinner party with many people, and she quite happily went from lap to lap, as long as her human was in sight. She asks to go out, but does not like to be put out and tied to do her business. Patches much prefers for her human to have her on leash and stroll about the yard (or nwighbourhood) with her.

We have had to leave her home alone on a few occasions, and she did very well, we didn't crate her, but rather had her tied with her bed and toys, no messes. Miss Patches is a bit of a princess in her old age, once she is comfortable, she does not like to be moved so if you have to get up and need to move her, don't be surprised by the little growl of displeasure! She will settle right back down in the next place she is put. Patches is a very social and loving little girl and follows her human wherever he/she goes. We've had no problems with her eating or drinking and she is always quite interested in what we have on our plates. Patches alerts when someone is at the door, but settles quickly. It will be difficult for us to let this little one go, but we have to, since we wish to continue fostering. Wherever this precious little one goes, she will bring much joy to her furever family. Will you be the lucky human she chooses to be hers?
