Adopt from OPP & save a life... we take unwanted pets from community members on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
Shortcake, aka Shortie, is about 7 years old and is looking for her forever home. Shortie did test FIV positive, but is otherwise healthy.
Shortcake is fixed and does well with other cats, dogs and kids.
Shortcake's adoption fee has been reduced to $20 to help more kitties like her!

Adoption applications are processed by OPP volunteers, since we do not have a shelter facility we check references and meet with you in your home to discuss the pet you are interested in adopting. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $150 and the adoption fee for cats and kittens is $100 which includes vaccinations, dewormer, flea/tick treatment and spay/neuter surgery - and in many cases we've treated the pet for much more if it arrives to OPP ill or injured. Our adoption fee helps cover part of these costs - adopters are welcome to make an additional donation to the program at the time of adoption so we can continue to help other unwanted pets on Pine Ridge. NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
