My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everybody, my name is Houdini and I am a beautiful cherry-headed conure! I was very scared when I came into the rescue, as I had not been held for a very long time, and I was a little unsure of people and other animals. Now I realize how nice everyone at Florida Parrot Rescue is and I'm loving being able to interact with people once again! Every morning I greet you with an "Aaachoo!" and if you're really lucky, you'll even get to hear my chicken impersonation. I have an old injury preventing me from flying, but that doesn't stop me from boogying around to get to you! Oh, and I'm learning to eat this "chop" stuff and healthy pellets - I used to be a picky eater! I really am a sweet boy and I need someone who will help me break out of my shell so I can be the best bird I can be! Won't you come meet me real soon? In the meantime, if you would like to send me a welcome to rescue gift, I would really appreciate it as I came into rescue with a very rusted cage (which the peeps at FPR are replacing for me), but I need toys, perches and food.
