Light Foot's Story...
This is Lightfoot. Like her sister Scarface she is a 9-month-old dilute tortie. She is mostly gray with splotches of color and one paw is all cream/white. When she was in foster care, Lightfoot loved to climb the kitty condo as fast as she could and was spotted more than one sleeping with the dogs. Lighfoot is the observer of the group and pays attention to everything. She too loves belly rubs, goofing around, and snuggling with her siblings.

An EMT on the west side rescued Lightfoot along with his mother and siblings. He cared for them for a few months while he was looking for a group to admit them and help find them forever homes. Lightfoot and her sister Scarface currently reside at the adoption center in the Petsmart on Elston. You can visit them any time during store hours. Submit your application today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Light Foot, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
