Lucy's Story...
Arrival story: Lucy was purchased by a family that was unprepared to take care of a puppy. Through no fault of her own, no one has worked with her yet...she has been living in a garage for a month. Poor pup. She was surrendered to Waggin' Tails so we can find her a forever home. Could you be the perfect home for her?

Approximate age: Lucy was born in December 2007, so she is 5 months old. She will be spayed before she is able to be adopted.

Personality: Lucy is just the cutest thing! We're getting to know her better, so we'll update ASAP. Her first evening in her foster home has been a great one! She's been for a walk and is now snoozing on her foster mom's bed! She has done great with the cats in her foster home and with the neighborhood dogs and kids. What a perfect girl!

Forever home: Right now the only requirement for her forever family is that they must look forward to raising a puppy. She deserves a family that will look forward to taking her to obedience classes and who will recognize that for her to be the perfect adult, she'll need time every day for mental and physical exercise...just like any puppy!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to sashnmax@yahoo.com.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, $275 for small breed dogs or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check
www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at PetSmart in Northville (on Haggerty Rd between 6 and 7 mile) or PetSmart in Canton (the northwest corner of Ford Rd and Haggerty Rd). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Northville Pug/Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Beagle for sale in Northville, or seeking a Pug/Beagle puppy from a breeder in Northville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Northville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Northville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Beagle breeders who help with Pug/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Northville paves the way for another one to be saved.
