Dutchess found her way to Rocket Dog with Parvovirus, she fought for her life and she won the battle. She was with a veterinary clinic for some time as she recovered and she is now staying with her foster Angie who is a professional dog trainer teaching her the ropes using positive reinforcement techniques.
Dutchess is looking for an active family to call her own and when I say family, she would just adore a big one! Complete with kids, cats and even other canines who are older and fully vaccinated. I’m also sure that she would be fond of the active individual or couple too as she is loves people!
She is sprightly and smart and knows sit, we are working her puppy nibbles, down as well as not jumping up (she is quite the jumping bean!), but she learns quickly and because she is so smart and active she will need a lot of mental and physical stimulation to keep her out of trouble.
She is almost crate trained, she will go into her crate and hang out in there and she travels well in it too, but she needs more work on relaxing in the crate for longer periods of time. She is potty pad trained too and with the right structure and consistency she will be a breeze to house train.
She LOVES toys and she will entertain herself for quite a bit by running through the apartment with them. She likes fetch or should I say keep away, as she’ll chase it, catch it, bring the ball back half way, play bow and then run off to entertain herself again.
She is also the BEST cuddler in the world! She loves to be ever so close and she particularly likes to curl up by my feet at bed time, but all other times she is close to my body or in my arms. She also likes to burrow. She takes to one of the cat tree nooks too, kind of funny looking at a little dog in a cat tree.
Dutchess is one of the best little puppy dogs ever and she is eagerly awaiting her furever home.
