My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Mr. Taz and I am a 5-7 yr. old beagle boy that was found as a stray in Virginia. When I arrived at the shelter, I was told that I had heartworms from the bite of an infected mosquito. I didn’t feel any differently, but I think it made it harder for me to find a new home. The shelter staff were so kind and they refused to give up on me, so they contacted Penny Angels to see if I could go to their Rescue in NJ. Lucky for me, PABR had room for me and they welcomed me with open arms. I received treatment for the heartworms and was a happy boy when I found out that I was getting adopted and going to a new home. Unfortunately, I was surrendered back to Penny Angels 2 weeks later because the older dog currently living in the home was stressed out with me being there. I didn’t have any problem with him; in fact, I didn’t really pay any attention to him. I guess the other dog was used to being the only dog in the home and didn’t want me around. That’s fine with me! I don’t let things like that bother me; I think of it as just another ‘bump’ along the doggie road of life. Now that I’m over that bump, it’s time to move forward.

I weigh about 22 lbs. and love everyone that I meet! In fact, I like hanging out with people, whether it be beside them on the floor, on the couch, or in their (my) bed! Even though I like sitting on the couch, I am only a part-time couch potato; I have bursts of energy at times, but then relax again and recharge my batteries. I like to play fetch with a ball and will ‘sit’ on command, too. I am using the doggie door in Rescue, but will be happy to learn the rules in your home after you adopt me.

I know that my TRUE forever home is out there, so I plan to be patient until my new family comes along! If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application and contact Penny Angels.
